My Sheep Follow Me

My goal is to know Him; the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death..."

During our prayer time together yesterday morning, my wife and I were talking about the end times and the deception that will be going on through the Anti-Christ. Scripture tells us, "False messiahs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, even the elect." (Matthew 24:24)

If it were possible, even the elect would be deceived and led astray, but it is not possible because the elect know God. I've read that people who are hired to detect counterfeit money are trained by only handling real money. They never touch counterfeit money during the training, all they touch is the real. The moment their fingers touch counterfeit money they know it because they know the real so well.

The only way that people will not be lead astray in the last days is by knowing the real. One cannot just believe in Jesus (head knowledge). One must know God. When one truly knows God by spending intimate time in His presence, they will recognize the substitute, the anti-Christ.

How will I know the false messiah and false prophet? You will know them when you see them. “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” (John 10:1-5)

Too many people spend their time trying to figure out who the anti-Christ is and where we are on the eschatological time table. Most of our time should be spent with God and knowing God so that however and whenever all this stuff goes down we will be so familiar with Jesus that when we see the false, we will know it.

Jesus said in Matthew 7, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Wow! What a powerful and dreadful scripture, "I never knew you..."

Do you want to know Christ or the anti-Christ? I want to know Jesus, the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.

How do I know Christ?

Spend time with Him through His word the Bible.

Spend time with Him through worship both private and cooperate.

Spend time with Him through fellowship with other believers (Sheep).

Spend time with Him through prayer, with thanksgiving.

By knowing Christ you will not be deceived.
